In this year that began with the news of the Senate's processing of Bill 4/2025, ||civilistica.com is proud to present to the public its first texts focused on the analysis of the Reform of the Civil Code. In addition to the inaugural article of this first issue of 2025, which addresses several points of the reform, we highlight other texts that touch on relevant criticisms of the project: the risk of decisionism linked to the inadequate treatment of the preservation of the legal business; the potential litigiousness of the indemnifiability of indirect damages; the omission regarding women's health and sexual and reproductive dignity; the concern of regression in matters of civil incapacity; the disregard for the progressive autonomy of children and adolescents. We believe that the doctrine can never escape its role of permanent criticism of the elaboration and application of the Law, an indispensable function for preserving the stability of the system, for guaranteeing legal certainty and for promoting constitutional legality and the democratic values of our Supreme Law. The cover of this edition features the work "Heroic Bow Strokes" by Paul Klee – in which, beneath the illustration of straight and curved shapes that simulate the movements of a violin's bow, it is possible to glimpse, almost imperceptibly, fragments of newspaper articles in printed letters. May the doctrinal effort of Brazilian civil law also know how to preserve its space, even under the pressure of not always encouraging news. Enjoy your reading!
