The discovery of the vaccine is a feat of the modern world and constitutes a milestone in history. Through it, vaccine-preventable diseases such as smallpox and polio were eradicated for the benefit of health and individual lives, optimizing the stability of relationships and social processes. Without the vaccine, there would have been many more existential and patrimonial losses, such as those that occurred as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
