This paper analyses the “abstract and concrete paradox”, according to which our judgments are influenced by the level of abstractness or concreteness in which a problem is framed and posed. More specifically, we aim to investigate if judgments that deal with the application of the principle of human dignity are susceptible to the abstract and concrete paradox. We hope to be able to shed some light on the meaning of the principle of human dignity, given its importance in contemporary legal systems.
