Abstract

The consolidation of the massive use of internet in information society defies the traditional ways of protection of author’s rights. The speed in which contents travel on the web reveals the necessity of efficient means of protection so as to stem violations of author’s rights online. With the Civil Rights Framework for Internet, it becomes necessary to analyse if the Brazilian legal system has efficient mechanisms in order to protect author’s rights, from the perspective of legal worthiness and in the light of a functionalized author’s rights law.
